Add a channel or video

Videos reach the index in a few ways:

• Search discovery. We periodically search YouTube for Riftbound related uploads (for example deck guides, gameplay, and similar terms).
• Watched channels. Channels that have been curated or approved are polled for new uploads, and may be backfilled for older videos.
• Community suggestions. Signed-in users can suggest a channel or video with the form above. Maintainers review each suggestion and may accept it into the index.
• Manual review. Site maintainers can also add or reclassify specific videos when discovery misses something useful.

Before a listing can appear in Browse, it has to clear a few gates:

1. It must look like Riftbound content in the title, description, or channel name. Unrelated YouTube videos are skipped.
2. Length must fit the index. Very short videos and livestream / stream-VOD style titles are filtered out.
3. It must be eligible after classification. Workflow status (pending, classified, needs review) is separate from site eligibility (eligible, excluded, or uncertain). Only eligible videos appear in Browse.
4. Tags are focused. Classification sets a content type plus optional domains and legends.

1. A video is found through search, a watched channel, a community suggestion, or a maintainer add.
2. Basic filters remove Shorts, livestream-style titles, and out-of-range lengths.
3. YouTube metadata (duration, views, language, and so on) is fetched.
4. Classification assigns tags. High-confidence eligible results go live. Low-confidence or uncertain cases wait for review. Maintainer corrections lock only the fields they change so unlocked dimensions can still be updated automatically.

Listings stay on YouTube for playback. RiftTube only stores and organizes the index metadata.

Newly discovered channels start as candidates. Maintainers can approve useful sources so their uploads are polled regularly, or block channels that should not be indexed. Blocking a channel removes its videos from the site.

A video can still appear in Browse after discovery even before its channel is fully approved, as long as the video itself passes classification.

Once a video is listed, you can find it on Browse with filters such as language, legend, domain, set, and content type. Those filters help you search what is already indexed — they are not part of how a video gets added.

Indexing and featuring are separate. Featured placement highlights a verified creator’s latest video on the home browse experience. Verify your channel with a video title code in Account → My Channel, then request featuring. Featuring does not replace the normal discovery and classification path for getting videos into the index.

The homepage Featured creators carousel can also show a Rising creator pick. You cannot apply for it. About every 12 hours, RiftTube chooses an eligible smaller channel from the index and promotes that channel’s most recent eligible upload.

Channels are considered when they roughly match all of these:

• Approved or curated on RiftTube (not blocked)
• Enough eligible videos already in the index
• A recent eligible upload
• A smaller subscriber count when subscriber counts are known
• Not currently using a homepage-visible featured slot
• Not already spotlighted as Rising creator recently
• Not flagged as an AI-heavy channel
• The spotlighted video is not tagged as AI content

Getting indexed and staying active with eligible uploads is the path to becoming eligible — use the suggestion form above if something is missing from the index.

If a video is already indexed but the tags look wrong — content type, language, domains, or legends — open that video’s page and use Suggest correction. Maintainers review each suggestion before anything changes, and only one suggestion can be pending per video at a time.
